So this is pretty important. We rarely seem to asses how a lot of the demands for action in the animal lib movement are very exclusive and ableist. This movement should be open for everyone regardless of abilities and no one should be made to feel they aren’t doing enough because they can’t take physical action. Give it a read.
these hierarchies also absolutely form around other issues of power and privilege, like race, class, gender, sexuality, age, legal status, mental health status, trauma history, employment status, etc. we gotta quit it, vegans.

i posted this, but was messaged and told that this group appropriates the struggles of Jewish people, rape and abuse survivors, and people of color to further their cause so i took it down and edited this post. FYFV holds a firm belief that the forced rape and impregnation of non-human animals is a feminist issue and that it’s speciesist to argue that talking about the rape of all animals as injustice negates the experience of human rape survivors. however, as white folks, we don’t think it’s our place to use the stories of people of color or oppressed ethnicities to discuss animal liberation. additionally, we are against the state of Israel and for Palestinian autonomy. i can’t speak for the 269life movement because i don’t have enough information, but this article appears to be written by an Israeli newspaper, and if 269life is a Zionist movement i want nothing to do with it.
