We know that comparing the dairy industry to rape is a controversial one, but one that brilliantbitterblue and I (ragn) stand by. I’m a survivor, too, and I do not think it diminishes the experience of rape survivors and victims to compare it to what dairy cows go through en masse every day. As a feminist, I stand in solidarity with cows because the same thinking that oppresses and exploits them oppresses and exploits women. In fact, I feel like it diminishes the experiences of dairy cows by not calling it what it is. I mean, the dairy industry is the one that coined the term “rape rack”, not me. This is something that we strongly believe in and while we may not shy away from talking about it, I will promise to do a better job at posting trigger warnings.
